I am going to have to assume that the 42 volts refers to ABS systems? Because if ABS is not included, it's nothing more than hydraulics (and vacuum assistance, if you have a brake booster) on most cars. Honestly, this whole "computer controls everything" approach that carmakers have been taking lately just sounds like a bad idea to me. It's really just more things that can go horribly (and expensively) wrong for little more than a marginal benefit.
